‍KCM Cares Empowers Optimal Health for Those In Need

Silver Spring, MD (November 26, 2024): KCM Cares, a Kelly Collaborative Medicine initiative, officially launches today with a mission to provide equitable and compassionate healthcare to all.  Founded by Dr. Kathryn Kelly, a leading physician in the Washington, D.C. area, this non-profit organization is dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations, promoting diversity in medicine, and empowering communities through health education.

KCM Cares aims to address healthcare disparities and improve access to quality care for those who need it most.

The organization's core initiatives include:

• Supporting Vulnerable Populations: KCM Cares provides direct medical care and resources to vulnerable individuals, including the homeless and those experiencing financial hardship. This includes mobile clinics, health screenings, and assistance with navigating the healthcare system.
• Promoting Diversity in Medicine: KCM Cares is committed to increasing diversity in the medical field by empowering physicians of color through mentorship programs, scholarships, and leadership development opportunities.
• Community Health Education: KCM Cares offers health education programs and workshops to equip communities with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Dr. Kathryn Kelly, the driving force behind KCM Cares, has a long-standing commitment to serving underserved communities. Her extensive experience and passion for equitable healthcare have inspired the creation of this impactful organization.

"I believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their background or circumstances," says Dr. Kelly.  "KCM Cares is committed to breaking down barriers and ensuring that all individuals have the opportunity to achieve optimal health."

Dr. Kelly's impressive background and dedication to community health make her the ideal leader for KCM Cares. A Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician, Dr. Kelly has been serving the Washington, D.C. area since 2013. She received her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine and completed her residency at the Georgetown University Hospital/Washington Hospital Center Program.

KCM Cares' launch coincides with Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity that encourages charitable giving.  The organization invites the community to support its mission by donating to KCM Cares on Giving Tuesday and beyond.
